Adoptable  Birds
These are birds that have already gone through quarantine and are or will be adoptable. Some may still be going through behavioral
treatment and may not be available immediately. If interested in a bird, feel free to
email us for more info, or go to the application page
and fill it out and return it.
All birds are on a diet of natural Zupreem, Harrisons, Tropimix and lots of fresh foods including but not limited to, pasta, fruit, vegetables,
brown rice, red palm oil and much, much more!
All birds entering the rescue are disease tested. Standard tests are Psittacosis, Polyoma, Aspergillosis, and PBFD as warranted.
Unfortunately, no test exists for PDD and a bird may have it and not show it for years.
Zippy -Adoption Pending
Zippy is a yellow nape Amazon. She is currently staying with the rescue while her owner
decides if she is ready to give her up or not. We will accept applications on her, but will not
place her until she is available. She is a great talker, fairly quiet for an Amazon, and loves
women. She had free access of her old house and is a little upset that she gets caged for
bedtime and if no one is home. She can get nippy when returned to her cage, so we are
presently working on that issue.
Macgyver
This is a male Dusky Conure. His favorite thing to do is sit on your shoulder and ask for a kiss!
He is definitely a conure and is very loud! He needs someone who is experienced with birds or
he will try to bully you. He does well with other birds and seems to prefer women.
Honey
This little girl looks awful. She came from a fairly abusive background and was housed in a
VERY small cage with an amazon that would pluck her. Now out of that situation she is
getting feathers back in. She used to be on a 100% seed diet and has very little muscle
mass from poor nutrition and no exercise. A wonderful woman and her family "ransomed"
this precious bird and turned her over to the rescue to find a great home. She is fairly quiet
and a bit nervous. She isn't a biter, and is still learning to step up consistently.
Casey
Casey is a unique resident in the rescue. She is a 30+ year old Double Yellow Headed
Amazon. She is a special needs bird that has a medical condition requiring medication
for the rest of her life. She is very special and loves to trill and talk. She doesn't have a
large vocabulary, rather she keeps you in stitches with the different ways she says her
phrases. We will only consider adopting her out if the right family were to come along.
Angel
Angel is a Red Lored Amazon between 30-35 years old. She is another special needs bird
that has the equivalent of emphysema. She has to stay in a fairly humid environment to assist
in easier breathing and may someday need breathing treatments. She has personality plus!!!
She gets along with most all humans and is extremely jealous and aggressive with other birds.
She has quite a vocabulary and loves to be held, pet and talked to. She is a typical Amazon
and LOVES to eat! Many extra criteria will be required of anyone applying to be a potential
adopter. We will be very picky and will only consider adoption if we feel a family can increase
her quality of life.
Bailey
The picture is a bit blurry because it was taken while Bailey was playing
Peek-A-Boo!!! This macaw is one of the sweetest I have been around. She loves her
toys and loves attention! She can be quite the stinker though....she LOVES to dump
her food or water that is on the playgym she is on during the day. When playing on
the floor she loves to have a towel to shake and "kill".
She loves to play and will pin her eyes wildly when enjoying a game with you.
Milton
Milton is a Hybrid Milligold Macaw. A Milligold is a cross between a Blue and Gold Macaw
and a Military Macaw. His coloring is unique and beautiful!! He has a lot of cage
aggression, but is actually a sweet fellow. He is 20+ years old and a typical loud macaw.
He is NOT a bird for beginners. He does have moments of being a "stinker" and can be
ornery. He loves to play, be held and loved and will caress you back. He talks a lot, but not
all of it is decipherable. He is more of a closet talker, but when it is bedtime and you put him
in his cage he will mumble and grumble like a little kid! Potential adopters for Milton must
have macaw experience or the application will be rejected.
DANTE
This is a very sweet Umbrella Cockatoo. He is a bit plucked, but according to his previous owner was fully
naked when she got him. We think he looks great with feathers!! He seems to do well with both men and
women. He's not a big talker, but when he does say something it is in that cute Cockatoo voice. He is also a
very typical Cockatoo in that he can scream in the upper decibels when so inclined.
Waddlesworth/Waddles
This little Goffins is in perfect feather and quite the charmer. He loves to dance, cuddle, show
his wings and just be with or near you! He prefers men and will even go as far as attacking his
female "competition" when his male of choice is around. This guy is ALSO an escape artist! If
you do not make provisions to lock his cage, he WILL get out. Once out, He will also open
others cages!
Khieva -Adoption Pending
This little girl is a Black-Capped Conure. Kissably sweet and such a joy to have around!
She does well with other birds, and currently has been buddying up with Floyd! She
enjoys long walks around the playperch, energetic jaunts around the living room dance
floor, and meals by full spectrum lighting!
