| Hello, my name is Shelly Monahan and I want to let you know about one particular bird named lulu! We adopted lulu this past september, after meeting her with tracy and her other birds at our khq booth at the interstate fair. I guess you could say it was love at first sight! While the other greys were all fully feathered, lulu was completely bald in places where she had plucked because of her past situation on the west side of the state. it's funny but i never saw the fact that lulu didn't have most of her feathers.....instead it was her eyes! they told me all i needed to know about this amazing, loving bird. when my husband saw the two of us together, his only words...."it's a done deal!" you'll be glad to know, it's been three months and lulu's feathers are coming in beautifully. she eats like a horse and talks up a storm! she goes with me in the car all the time. she uses the coffee holder as her perch! she'd rather be with humans than other birds and is thriving on all the attention from our family of six! please know that when you adopt a bird from pampered parrots...it just doesn't stop there. tracy, her wonderful husband, and kris, the owner of the bird shop and her wonderful husband are there for you 24-7. whether it's to answer questions or trim your adopted birds nails for free.....they become an extended family. you can also feel safe knowing that the care these birds get from this organization is of the highest quality. they have them medically examined and screen every home before an adoption is granted. if you're thinking of bringing a bird into your home, i strongly encourage you to talk with tracy and kris. i have never met two more caring, giving, and loving women who are completely dedicated to their mission....and that is to rescue these birds from bad situations, rehabilitate them, and then find them good homes. from traveling to area schools with the rescue birds to educate children, to spending hours cleaning cages and feeding birds......it is a full time job for them. If you're a bird lover like myself, it's just an honor to meet these two ladies and watch them work |
